What Hiltrud Hansen doesn't like about Keller's Weinrestaurant:
We found the restaurant by accident, walking around the center of Mannheim we really wanted a German restaurant with local food. It is a gem. Luckily we found a table outside. Service was good. We had local beer and the chanterelles specialties, all great. Don’t...know why all reviews are from last year, but this restaurant is a must for a visit, especially since there are mainly Turkish and Arabic places nearby. View all feedback.
A pretty little place with a beautiful sitting area in the open. we visited it enthusiastically from their seasonal pfifferlingen menu. we had no reservation, but it worked well. we have a nice table outside. their Chanterelle menu is not extensive, but sufficient. the service was good and fast. our server, jenny, was very friendly. we ordered bark tar for a starter, two suppening, the filet and fried chanterelles in butter, served with a baguette. our application was mixed a little, and instead of fried mushrooms we have a carving. the Chanterelle sauce on her looked really good, but when we asked about the meat for the cutlet, we were informed that it was pork. because we don't eat a pig, we had to send it back. the correct replacement was quickly sent to the table. suppen portion was not so big, it was more a cup than a bowl. also it was a tiny bit oversalted. the tartar had a good taste, but was thinly spread on a slice of bread. we have not taken care of the fact that we serve him because it came out to be too much broth and not enough tartaric acid; in the grunde it was a very small part. chanterelle and baguette court came out to very simple, fried mushrooms with a side of brot, no sauce. overall it was an ok dinner, but not fantastic.
For Americans in Germany this is the best restaurant for this thanksgiving atmosphere. I found everything to be perfect and would recommend to any American who is not with there family to visit this restaurant. they will treat you as family. I recommend. this place for everyone if I have the chance. not difficult to find right next to public transport.

Ate here with two colleagues on a Sunday night in early July: Pfifferling season (Chanterelle mushrooms). Nice assortment or Pfifferling specials. The three of us had the cream of mushroom soup: creamy with the right amount of whole mushrooms. I speak fluent German, my colleagues...did not. I asked for a couple of English menus. Very good translation from restaurant-German to standard English. Good selection of local beers on tap (five). The wine list is extensive: ~20 wines available by the glass; but few bottles. Nice way to try different regional wines. Upon selecting our entrees, I asked our server for wine pairings. She suggested and gave reasons why (sweetness, acidity). Good choices! We ordered: Sauerbraten (said marinated beef, but it is marinated beef pot-roast); Winzer teller (assorted meats, potato puree, sauerkraut); Schnitzel with Pfifferlinge. All were excellent! Very nicely made Spaetzle. Would definitely return!
My husband and I visited Keller’s for dinner after changing our minds on a previous restaurant we were very glad we did! We had our small dog with us and they were very welcoming and kind. We had called ahead and made a reservation which...was helpful as it did get busy a little after we arrived at 6:00. Our German is around the Elementary level and they catered to us with care and patience. I ordered a steak with mushrooms and potatoes and my husband ordered a mustard crusted pork served with potatoes. Perfectly cooked delicious meat and we are still talking about those potatoes days later! We will return when in Mannheim!
