I have eaten here many times in small and in large groups, and have always had a good experience. The restaurant is very neat with high ceilings making it very easy to have and to hear your own conversation. The lighting is comfortable and the place has great outdoor views. What John Shanmuganathan doesn't like about Up to Par:
we had strawberry shortcakes, it's the first time in my life that I had cookies that were so hard that they had to cut them with a knife. I wonder if they are always so hard or just stabbed and should have been thrown out. View all feedback.
The drive from Hampton to the restaurant was beautiful. The facilities were very nice and the salmon with salad was exceptional. The chicken parmigiana over spaghetti was also delicious.
This place has been attracting me since 2016; always friendly, pleasant staff, excellent menu and prices. New owners Chris and Amanda have even improved the experience. I drop in every time I'm through Kings County. It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth...a visit!
Nothing really to compare in the area. We like to go there cause we live not to far away, and prefer the country to the city. Friendly staff, in our experience they tend to get overwhelmed when it gets busy. We do know that it...is a bit pricey for the quality is not high end. I would compare it to diner food, lots of choices, and all done pretty good, but nothing blows your socks off. I would stay away from the seafood for the most part....especially the seafood casserole. Nice atmosphere, relaxed setting. So, that is the past apparently...new owners now (congrats! , so definitely won't pre-judge, looking forward to seeing how things go.
Beautiful place to enjoy a meal. eating is delicious and there are a lot of options on the menu. also great wings and desserts!
The parking lot was full and we didn't have a reservation, but they were able to fit us in! The fish and chips were amazing, 15 out of 10! It was a generous portion and delicious. My husband ordered the onion rings as a side and they were also perfect! The atmosphere was cozy and the service was prompt, which is not always the case at other restaurants. Overall, the meal was excellent, but the fish and chips and onion rings were standout favorites!
