Sol Grill Room - Osoyoos

They have a decent menu, a pleasant view and a convenient location but have very small portions that are over priced. There are several nearby restaurants that offer better value.

Chicken satay was soggy, most likely frozen and briefly heated, Brie stuffed chicken breast had no Brie ,soup was from a can. At home I would throw this out rather than eat it.

Slow service and over an hour for our sub par food. The waitress even asked if we had ordered yet after 30 mins. Then said our food would be out shortly. Another 30 mins for some deep fried Tash browns out of a bag and package hollandaise sauceGross- never again

My husband and I ordered the salmon, it arrived in a timely manner. We found the salmon to be very dry, bland, absolutely no flavor except a fishy taste. requested to have soya sauce, Waited and waited and now my meal is starting to get cool,got up to find the waitress and again requested soya sauce. She delivered a container to our table and I poured over my rice only to taste a malt vinegar. This was pointed out to the waitress and nothing was done. The restaurant was not busy with only three tables being served. We certainly will not ever be returning to that place.

I called to make a reservation twice and left messages that I wanted to make a reservation but no one returned the calls. The next day I called the hotel instead of the restaurant and was told that they only take reservations for groups of 6 or more. I didn't know and almost didn't go. The parking was a bit confusing as we tried to park on the property as opposed to the street. The desk said you can park below but most park on the street. There is no signage about parking below. So we parked on the street. In the lobby there were signs indicating that the restaurant was on the second floor so we walked up. It was empty except for one couple. We ordered the lamb and the duck. Both meals were so-so and not particularly hot. With the air conditioning blowing down on the table it didn't take long for the meal to cool even more. I felt the food was similar to what would be served in a family restaurant (lower prices). The prices were certainly higher at this restaurant but the food fell short in quality and finesse.The staff was pleasant and attentive. The lake view was nice. However, the carpeting was grimy and stained and not conducive to fine dinning!There are better options in Osoyoos so will not be returning.
