"Located in an alley off the Limatquai, just up-river from the Rathaus. Charming old world, French country decor, casual and friendly. We had a wonderful onion soup and a mixed grill of seafood with ratatouille. Simple preparation and very good, friendly and attentive service. Outdoor patio, indoor tables, and a cute bar separated from the restaurant so very cozy. Mid range price, so for this neighborhood in the Altstadt of Zurich a real nice discovery."

"I made a reservation for a particular set menu many weeks in advanced and noted on the reservation that I had a nut allergy. On the day of the reservation, I reminded the waitress I have a nut allergy. From the four-course set menu, two were substituted. The substitutions were not to the same standard as the originals. Instead of the goat cheese, nut, cranberry jam salad for the first course, I was served an unoriginal leafy salad with dressing. And, instead of a lemon meringue tart for dessert, I was served a bowl of cubbed fruit with a scoop of sorbet. From what I understand, this is one of the top-rated restaurants in Zurich (if not Switzerland) so to be served such thoughtless and uncreative substitutions, with plenty of notice given in advance, is a real shame, especially because I really enjoyed the other two courses."

"The Blockhus is a long established, rustic establishment. The service is attentive and always ready for a story. This was our second time at the Blockhus and we really enjoyed it again. Open all day Thursday Saturday from midday. Very useful when visiting subsequent theaters or operas. The food is down to earth, delicious. There is meat, pasta and tartare. We had a good mix of them and were able to get a good overview. We were all very satisfied."

"We were in the equi table for the second time. the food was excellent and tastefully very diverse. the portions were right. we had a five-course-menue with wine-guiding, which were very well adapted to the courses. what we like here is the mix between cozy dining room and pointed kitchen. you just feel comfortable here. thank you to the team. you do a great job!"
