Wira bruk, located two miles north of Åkersberga, was one of Sweden's most important weapons factories during the 17th century. Today, it is a picturesque industrial village with smithies and cottages along the Wira River. Visitors can witness the production of artisan ironwork and enjoy the theater show WiraSpelen. Wira bruk is open to the public and features the Big Forge from the 1700s, the Little Forge built in the 1800s, Wira Museum, and Wira Restaurant in the Courthouse. Guided historical tours are also available from May to September.
