This robatayaki steakhouse offers a mixed experience for diners. Some guests praise the attentive service and tasty dishes such as the Uni Wagyu Beef roll and the porterhouse steak. Others are less impressed, feeling that the high prices are not justified by the underwhelming decor and overall experience. However, many diners appreciate the exceptional food quality and attentive servers, especially highlighting dishes like the wagyu sushi, smoked duck, and lychee martini. While some feel that the sashimi was not properly served, others rave about the uni mignon steak and overall experience. Despite some mixed reviews, many customers plan to return for the delicious food and excellent service provided at this establishment.
The average evaluation for Salt + Charcoal is 4.2, which means that the visitors have a very high opinion of this restaurant.
What Karen Perry likes about Salt + Charcoal:
Chris, the manager was so accommodating on a Friday night. We had no reservations and he squeezed us in for a spectacular meal. The waygu sushi was simply amazing. The steak was ok. Too much charcoal not enough flavor. But the baked potato was to die for. Tomorrow was our server and he made some great recommendations.Food: 4/5 View all feedback.
What martin weber doesn't like about Salt + Charcoal:
This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. Everything is spectacular. I have a feeling they are in for a Michelin star soon. One night a had 3 orders of the Boston scallop to my face. The Wagyu tasting platter is epic. Best crab cake I’ve ever had. Everything here is the best I’ve ever had when it comes to an all around proper Japanese restaurant. This restaurant is a gold mine of culinary pleasure and flavor. View all feedback.
