What benjirich likes about The Butchers Bistro:
Two of us ate here lastnight and had a really nice meal. On balance I've given it a 4 based in the food price but the service was outstanding- friendly, helpful and welcoming without being in any way intrusive. The food was very good but seemed to lack that very top level of fine dining and extra depth of flavour you might expect given the menu website. What BBmofo doesn't like about The Butchers Bistro:
+staff very nice -food was terrible, maybe I should have gone for the steak. Though I thought the trio of fish served with fresh seasonal veg and new potatoes would be nice, it was horrendous, probably the worse meal I’ve eaten since being last in Hosptial, one of the trio was past it’s best, tasted off. The vegetables were awful, mushy brown broccoli, pre sliced carrots from bookers (like you’d get at a Toby carvery) and the new potatoes were almost old ones they were huge and dry. The whole dish was extremely dry and bland. Dry white fish, with dry vegetables and dry potatoes. It was also served in a bowl which made eating the fish difficult- should have been on a flat plate. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to sit down and try this dish themselves or take it off the menu ASAP.
