It is value for money, nothing elaborate - but they don't try to be something they're not - and the food is always fresh, good tasting and not greasy. One of us ordered the pollock -- it came long and thin, almost all batter with virtually no fish inside. What fish there was was flaky but it was wet and tasteless. Batter was OK. Other person had haddock -- more fish here, but it too was wet and tasteless. The chips are the sort made from dried powdered potato and were horrid.
