The Half Moon is a charming 200-year-old country pub nestled on Ditchling Road in Plumpton, just a short five-minute drive from Lewes. Known as a popular meeting point for walkers and cyclists, this pub offers a delightful seasonal menu showcasing locally sourced ingredients. It is celebrated for its home-cooked specialties and traditional Sunday roasts. Guests can enjoy an inviting ambiance complete with an open fire, a bar serving Plumpton wines, fresh apple juice from Ringden Farm, Sussex bitters, a terrace, and seven acres of picnic grounds. We weren't sure what to expect following recent mixed reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and caring with the food of good quality and hot. Went to this pub a few years ago and had a great meal and would recommend. Returned today to find a seemingly stressed manager and a section of empty tables despite being told the pub was busy and being squeezed into a small corner.
