This restaurant offers a diverse menu with reasonably priced options, providing a mix of American and Japanese takes on sushi. The food is generally good, although some dishes are better than others. The service is friendly, efficient, and accommodating, with special mention given to a manager named Mike for his exceptional customer service skills. The ambience at the restaurant is great, although the pricing is on the higher side. The diverse menu includes options like akedashi tofu, salmon poke, tonkatsu, and baked rolls. The portions are generous, and the tempura ice-cream is best avoided. Furthermore, the unique atmosphere includes a gender-inclusive restroom and a server who uses appropriate pronouns without being prompted. Overall, this restaurant offers a good dining experience, despite some minor drawbacks like inconsistent waiter behavior.
Based on the average rating of 3.6 for the Ami Japanese Restaurant, one can assume that it has satisfied the majority of its customers.
What Blair likes about Ami Japanese Restaurant:
Very large menu with good diversity of options. We really liked all but 1 of our 5 rolls. (Something about the combo in that one didn't really work, but when we broke it up to eat in smaller deconstructed bites it was fine. Specialty rolls were fairly large and all had a lot going on so it made for HUGE bites. But overall, we were happy and would return if in the area again. View all feedback.
What Eula Nienow doesn't like about Ami Japanese Restaurant:
The price is good for regular menu items, the happy hours special are good for drinks, food items just ok. The restaurant setting is non traditional with classical music playing. The ordering system is a bit odd, hard to know who is your server. The beef from teriyaki bowl is dried and tempura from bento has no dipping sauce. Both dishes are below average but i have no problem for the price. View all feedback.
