I read so many good reviews and heard great things, so I decided to try Portillo’s when I came to Madison. Sadly, I wasn’t impressed. The hot dogs remind me of cheap store brand. The toppings were great, but the dogs themselves were not. I also didn’t like the beef bowl. I took one bite, ate the sweet peppers and that was it. The beef was too chewy and the gravy very salty.
