The Kettleby Cross, a J D Wetherspoon pub located in Melton Mowbray, originally opened in September 2007. Following a devastating fire in October 2010, the pub was completely rebuilt and reopened in May 2011. It is the first J D Wetherspoon ecological pub, featuring state-of-the-art equipment aimed at reducing energy consumption, such as a wind turbine on the roof that can be seen for miles. Melton Mowbray is known for its stilton cheese and pork pies, and it is a charming, tourist-friendly town with many events happening throughout the year.

the coffee machines did not work properly and the staff did not adhere to the adjustment of the amounts, so that we were a bit out of the core. both mugs we got were chipped, but the staff has exchanged them for us. the food was hot and tasty and the service was quite fast, so a total of 4 stars. The waitresses at this restaurant are grumpy and rude, but they serve decent food that is often below par on cold plates. Despite my complaints, nothing is done to improve the situation.
