The famous and historic Three Tuns Inn, known locally as 'The Tuns', is located at the top of Bishops Castle. Open since 1642, this establishment offers a deceptively large interior with a lounge, conservatory, snug, front bar, and function room. Situated on the site of the oldest licensed brewery in the U.K, The Tuns provides modern eclectic cuisine made with simple, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy a happy, friendly, and bustling environment, as well as a wonderful array of real ales from the on-site brewery. Despite the pub and brewery being separate businesses, they work closely together to ensure visitors have a truly worthwhile and memorable experience in this hidden gem of a market town nestled in the beautiful Shropshire hills. The area is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Based on the average assessment of 3.7 for the Three Tuns Inn, one can assume that it has satisfied the most of its guests.
What User likes about Three Tuns Inn:
Somewhat apprehensive having read a few recent reviews but in the end it was pretty good. We ate twice in the evening during a recent stay in the area. They accommodated a party of 9 on the first occasion and I cannot criticise either the food or the service. It is pretty standard pub grub but was piping hot and served with a smile. What User doesn't like about Three Tuns Inn:
I’m so upset for the poor girl wearing the pink trainers : all I could hear for a majority of my stay was him not only shouting at her but swearing just being so nasty , she was upstairs working with a smile on her face and was lovely to me and my partner he did not deserve that even if she did make a mistake we all do ! I hope the chef realises treating staff like that is not ok View all feedback.
