Established in 1976, Kamei Royale is a historic Japanese restaurant known for introducing the BC Roll and original sushi dishes in Vancouver. With the largest counter-top sushi bar and an exciting Robata grill showcasing the chef's skills, Kamei Royale offers a unique dining experience. In 1990, the restaurant underwent renovations to include a brand new bar lounge and Tatami rooms, catering to groups of up to 200. The addition of a bustling karaoke lounge allows guests to enjoy popular drinks and dishes while singing the latest songs from around the world.

The sushi pieces and other dishes were of good quality and value for money, but the service lacked the traditional Japanese hospitality.
