"May not be the most beautiful restaurant yet well furnished, but eating and service was excellent. we went on a Sunday night and there were very few people (maybe because some of the reviews) but we really enjoyed. the fish (sardines and sardels) were great and the salat was huge and all fresh. I also have to add that the waiter asked us if we wanted to change tables, so that we had more and more distant to the other tables and feel safer. gel was on the table and they wait masks during all time. the waiters were linguistic and very helpful during dinner. once again: nothing imaginative than other restaurants in the opposite, but a place to repeat and avoid mass."

"The Galtxagorri is a modest-looking establishment which, if my experience is typical, sets very high standards. First up were excellent bread and olive oil. A straightforward starter of jamon iberico and artisan cheese must rely heavily on quality ingredients, which these were. Main course was...four substantial fingers of duck breast fried and seasoned to perfection, and served on a bed of “tomato marmalade”. Quite delicious. As was the house white, which I would have like to know more about, but the waitress was too busy to ask. In fact, her very slightly brusque attitude was the only tiny fault I could find in a memorable meal."

"Easily the worst meal I have ever eaten. Do not be taken in by the perfect seafront location-the food is dire. The harbour location and the extensive fish-based menu caught our eye, but the food was a disaster from start to finish. Shortly after ordering...we noticed a large freezer with a glass door,full to the brim with large boxes of frozen fish and cheap desserts. If you are expeecting fresh fish,think again. My boyfriend ordered a menu de la courses for Each course was quite foul. The vanilla ice cream' came in a youghurt style tub. No attempt was made to disguise the cheap and nasty nature of the food. Ie it wasn't transferred to a bowl....they simply peeled off the foil lid for us. Other desserts on offer were a cheap version of the popular Viennetta' desert. We both had seafood paella for our main course and it was foul. The two mussels were inedible, the prawns tasteless and the rice was not proper paella rice. This restaurant gives Basque cuisine a bad name. For a delicious and freshly cooked paella, try Txoko just down the road.One word: divine. A generous portion of paella, cooked to perfection and served with tasty fresh bread, puts the phony Soterotxo to shame."
