"Le Coquiilage was the grand finale of two weeks on the Breton coast and it was more than we had anticipated, but mostly what a two star establishment promises, even in the boondocks. The Relais Chateau Richeux was excellent, and its restaurant is most fitting. The service was superb, the setting, with a view of the Saint Michel Bay, was elegant and comfortable. The Carte came only with three prix fixe menu choices, equally tempting and expensive. The wine list was encyclopedic, also expensive, but it did have some good and reasonably priced wines by the glass. If you drive (how else would you get here! parking was free and convenient. We leave it to the Michelin inspectors to rate the food, but we ate well and happily. It was certainly worth the trip!"

"Dined there after reading good reviews, unfortunately our experience wasn't so. The overall experience was average, let down by poor service and long delays between delivery of courses. I'll start with the bad Had an 830 reservation, took two attempts at a drinks order...and over a 30min wait before we finally got our drinks. Food order was not taken until a good 45 minutes after seating, first course of fancy cheese and crackers on a spoon arrived after over hour and 15min into our initial seating and the delays between courses continued. Don't get me wrong I am all for slow dining, but this was disappointingly slow and not something I expect from Michelin dining. Finally to top it off, head waiter needs to take a course in customer relations, he was in fine form in delivering a stunning performance of living up to past reputations of arrogance. The good food was to standard, but somehow lacked the wow factor. I had the lobster course and other had degustation mix. I expected more from this establishment, unfortunately I left feeling rather short changed on many fronts."

"We were on the Bay of Cancacle with friends and had intended to eat at a restaurant that we know and like at Cherrieux. Unfortunately it was closed. So at about we found ourselves travelling back along the bay, stopping at restaurants and looking...at menus, hoping to find somewhere before it became too late for lunch. After several stops and looks we found this restaurant. They offer a lunchtime set menu of three courses for which, for somewhere right on the coast, we thought was pretty reasonable value. So in we went. It is a very pleasant dining room and the young waiter was very pleasant and seemed to want to practice his English a little. First course was the buffet. This contained several different Piemontaise type dishes, some rice, some shredded carrot, and slices of garlic sausage, pate and rillettes. All very acceptable and tasty. The second course was a choice between chicken or a white fish. We all chose the latter, which I think was Hake, cooked in a white sauce (which could have been a little tastier) and served with mashed potato. The dessert was from a choice of three. Once again, we all chose the same which was a fromage blanc with a red fruit coulis. Ok but not hugely exciting, although acceptable given the pricing. What spoiled it somewhat, however, was the cost of drinks, which we felt were a little expensive as two large and two small shandies and four small coffees added to our bill! Probably not somewhere we will visit again, I’m afraid."
