"We had a pleasant meal at Batta Sushi. The star of our order was really the Kaizen Donburi. The charred eel was like butter. Delicious. The soft shell roll and the maguro especial were also very good. The tempura, however, was disappointing. The batter was not good. It was too crunchy and not crispy, fluffy and light like the authentic tempura batter you would find in Asia (actually I have yet to find a Japanese restaurant in CDMX that serves really good memorable tempura). The shrimp tempura was over cooked and salty. The tempura dipping sauce was a bit bland and they did not provide the grated horseradish that usually comes with a tempura set. Service was kind and gracious. The restaurant ambiance, I would prefer to have a bit more light. I felt that it was a bit dark inside."
