"The place has a beautiful view and as you can enter You see what is very traditionally decorated, I loved the place, the great selection of food is very rich, the quality of sushi is very good, we also have the desserts with Matcha KitKat and they are very good. Would go back."

"Best culinary experience I had in kyoto during the sakura 2019, by far! I loved the hospitality, quality of the food, presentation and keeping of the cook – the latter quality makes a great difference. the chef was calm and happy during the meal that really set the ton for the atmosphere. the whole staff made me a positive impression. as regards food, I must say – the best mistsuppe I had ever lived in my life! I had some nice dinner in japan on my trip, but this special mistsuppe was above the rest. I will dream for months. all in all, I would definitely return to nakatani."

"The best makrelensushi in my life. no hyperbolic, literally I haven't met a better makrelensushi than here. the makrele is very juicy and the combination with vinegar is beautiful. mackerel sushi is one of the local food in kyoto, so there are several famous and traditional restaurants for it. here is one and personally the best among them. it is very pre yasaka shrein so that the location is also good. the interior is very traditional Japanese house style, so they also like it."

"Good and tasty sushi, chef was working hard and cooking with a lot of attention, patience and professionalism. When we came there at about 9pm there was no one, so we were only clients in the restaurant that made us feel a bit awkward as the restaurant currently has 4.3 stars and it was empty... sushi are a bit expensive, a set costs about 3000 yen without a tax. As I said before, food was nice, but unfortunately I have to say not the best one as I’ve tried other sushi restaurants around and felt they were better (it’s my only subjective opinion as a tourist and not an expert in Japanese cuisine). The eel and rolls were delicious! Others were tasty as well but did not excite us. A bit overpriced, but a good place to visit. I don’t recommend to go there if you wanna save money and eat a lot of sushi for a dinner, there are other places to go! But the experience was worth it anyway. Thank you for the staff! And I also loved white galoshes they were wearing haha"

"Probably one of the best experiences in Japan so far! The food was incredible and the staff and atmosphere so friendly. It's not a touristic place so no English menu but it was not a problem as the staff recommended the dishes. Highly recommended!"
