For many decades we stayed at Alta Lodge. Goldminer’s was regarded as a less desirable somewhat downscale alternative. But for this visit Alta Lodge was full. We did not intend to stay in the absurdly expensive Rustler or new Snowpine—fine for the investment bankers but not for us. We were thrilled with Goldminer’s. My room , 301, was easily the equivalent of the East wing at.Alta Lodge. Food was almost equivalent to... View all feedback.

The only plus of this hotel is the proximity to the ski lift. Very expensive in relation to the hotel class, which I wouldn't assign more than two stars 1. No tea or coffee in the room 2. Ski locker was built long ago; it is not big enough to accommodate two pairs of current skis. 3.No safe in the room 4.No boot drier in the locker room 5.No mirror in the room 6.No any clock in the room 7. To hang your cloth, you have to be 6 feet tall 8. staff must be properly trained, especially in the restaurants
Great Lodge. Convenient to the Collins lift. Friendly hotel staff. Breakfast and Dinner was delicious and wait staff is friendly. GMD is a throwback to the old fashion ski lodges. Relax in the bar and the hot tubs while discussing your ski day with other guests.
A perfect place to call home for time on the mountain. The food is great and very plentiful with a lot of choices. The location can't be beat (after a few hours on the mountain it's easy to come down for something to eat, hang by the fireplace then head out for the afternoon and grab the last chair. The snacks in the saloon were always welcome. The staff is super helpful. It's a skier's lodge so not for someone looking for the resort experience with shopping and luxury. Our room was comfy and perfect for our needs.
Katherine was wonderful, so personable and made our experience so welcoming! Great food, great atmosphere!

We came all the way from Europe and the reviews of this hotel were so good that we had waited for a better service, especially with the price we paid per night. I don’t think we will go back to that hotel.
