"We had one of the best meals of our lives at Preus in Bruges. We were told by our host that this restaurant was begun by a chef, Jelle Hinderyckx, that used to have a restaurant with Michelin stars. It’s clear his new restaurant is well on its way to getting a Michelin rating as well. Some highlights include an exquisitely fresh Seabass, superbly cooked and placed atop a mussel risotto. It’s hard to describe how melt-in-the mouth delicious this dish was. The portions were generous, and I ate the whole thing. My husband had a perfectly cooked duck with shallots and green beans. Our dessert was a simple vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, but you have never tasted vanilla ice cream like this, and the chocolate sauce was to die for. Everything was elevated in terms of quality and preparation. We would travel to Bruges simply to eat at this restaurant."

"When every other place in Brugge seems to be selling nothing but meat and shellfish, it's nice to find a quirky relaxed place with a fab vegan hotdog. Good coffee as well, and also has a small but unusual stock of vinyl for sale."

"Vegan options clearly labelled with a purple sign. Vegan options for both breakfast and lunch bagels. You have to ask for the vegan option version as some have cheese. I had the aubergine lunch bagel and it was really good £8.50 little pricey compared to what I'm used to but average for Bruges. Only drawback was that the service was very slow with only one waiter serving the whole restaurant, our bagels were sat on the counter for 10 mins before the guy brought them over. Soy latte was amazing!"
