"I was driving from Catalunya to home which is in the Chilterns in England. I rarely plan and on this occasion I called up on the off chance. The hotel sits snugly in the centre of Charmes in the Ardeche, a quiet, rather attractive village with...cobbled streets and a fine old church. I was travelling with my pooch a Catalan sheepdog) and she was made to feel welcome which is always nice. The room was comfy, with a decent bed and shower and a small terrace. I'm not a great fan of restaurants that do fancy tasting menus because they can be pretentious and I tend to think they're more about the chef's vanity than a desire to please the customer. And there isn't an a la carte choice. But I was really pleasantly surprised. The small menu was full of subtle flavours, conjured up with excellent fresh, local ingredients and presented with flair: a delicious ravioli with snails in a light mousse to start with topped with truffles followed by a perfectly cooked quail, off the bone and rolled up a roulade in effect with onions and a mushrooms. French provincial cooking at its best. The staff is small but helpful and the place has a nice relaxed yet professional feel. It's classified as a 3 star which is about right. My room was Euros 95 10 for the pooch) which with food dinner with wine and breakfast) brought the total to just over Euros 200. No it's not a business hotel as such. But as a stop over it was just what I wanted."

"I will eat there regularly, whether between friends, colleagues, family, or couple, never disappointed, and we do not come out with hunger, ardecholic specialties, a quick service, everything to spend a pleasant meal...The lunch, the formulas and menus of the day are very good and cheap at all, for example for 13€ you have entered/plat/dessert copied and tasty, and for 3€ more. and if you want to enjoy yourself in the evening or weekend, the menu at 19€ is already very well, with a value for money at the appointment"

"Again disappointed, yesterday it was a computer problem so not possible to accumulate loyalty points. Today more than 20 minutes waiting at the drive following a problem to benefit from a monopoly gain, sandwich offered) personal not pleasant, not to listen what counts is to advance the queue and get rid of the customer as soon as possible. Satisfaction and listen customer 0!!! All this to eat cold and not have had the free sandwich ... service and reception much too disappointing"
