We went to Altapass Apple orchard with the intent to eat lunch at Switzerland Cafe afterwards. I am so glad we did! I ordered the whole smoked trout appetizer as my lunch and was very happy that I did! We walked in around 3pm Sunday July 31, 2022, a girl with reddish hair was sitting behind the playing on her phone. She got up and walked over to another girl with dark hair who was helping a couple get ice cream. Neither one of the girls looked at us, nor even acknowledged us being there. Stopped for an ice cream break while driving through the mountains. Nice little shop with good ice cream, coffee and fudge. Small tables for two inside or nice tables outside. Other souvenirs and childrens toys for sale. Very pleasant.
Let me just start by saying our trip to the mountains started out wS the worst food! But then this cute tiny cafe turned that all around and we left the mountain with fat, full, and fluffy belly’s super happy and wishing we had ordered more to go than just the awesome eclair we took on the road which was not a mistake! Everything we ordered was delightful cooked w/ love! Best tomato basil and creamy mushroom soup ever! Highly recommend the homemade pimento cheese! And the chicken tacos with that amazing sauce was on point! Even down to our kids grilled cheese and hot dogs were good! This place did not disappoint!! Great food, service and atmosphere ?? However I was stuffing my face with all the goodness I didn’t take one pic.
Lovely ice-cream, candy, fudge shop. A couple of free arcade games in their sitting room for customers. Retro Candy Store atmosphere.

Except the head and tail (yes, he was looking at me), it was a completely boneless whole fish, served with capers, red onion, cilantro yogurt and crackers. The smoked fish was mild and just so incredibly heavenly. My uncle had a southwest smoked chicken salad sandwich, ole! and my husband enjoyed tomato basil soup and smoked chicken on a humongous salad. Everything was delicious. We will be back. We always go back.
A cute ice cream shop with a limited selection of ice cream and fudge but everything we tried tasted great! The customer service lady was kind and let us refill our water bottle from their sink because their water was sold out. The restaurant across the street was fully booked too.
