I book by phone (doing a favor, avoiding booking on Booking) 2 weeks before 2 nights, I introduce myself to the hotel and obviously my reservation had not been marked. Full hotel but not to mention it, as if you were dumb, I was offered a house for rent 200m from the hotel to stay quieter. No discount for discomfort.
