"Came across this little cafe by chance while visiting the charming Ferstal Passage Arcade in Vienna. Two of us shared plate of different hams including their aged air dried ham with cheese chutney and rye bread. (Cost around Euro Nice wines . They...have a large area where they appear to age hams for others which have their names on them. Service good. I would gladly go back foe a casual lunch in nice surroundings."

"Wir sind zum Steirerhof zurückgekehrt, nach längerer Unterbrechung. Die unfreundliche Kellnerin gibt's nicht mehr. Das Stammpersonal ist geblieben, serviert freundlich, manchmal kühl und gehetzt, wenn Hochbetrieb ist. Man kann Speisen auch bestellen und mitnehmen, für einen Bringservice fehlt das Personal. Aber das Essen, regional und jahreszeitlich variierend, ist unverändert gut. Gerade war noch Bärlauchzeit, jetzt ist Spargelzeit. Traditionelle Wiener Küche mit böhmischem und slowakischem Einschlag, manche (scheinbar) einfachen Gerichte wie eine Grießnockerlsuppe können in einem Haubenlokal kaum besser sein, das gilt auch für die traditionellen Martinigansln im Dezember. Riesenportionen, kleine Preise. Ein Mittagsmenü (Suppe und Hauptspeise) gibt es um 6-7 Euro. Nicht umsonst ist der Steirerhof das Stammlokal vieler Pensionisten. Der einzige Wermutstopfen ist die Getränkesteuer. Für den Preis von einem Seidel Bier im Lokal kann ich zuhause 5 Flaschen trinken. Aber dafür kann der Steirerhof nichts. Die Weinkarte wäre ausbaufähig."

"RUDE MANAGEMENT CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY Sent back a basic side salad because it contained an item I had told the waitress I was intolerant to. That's fine. No big deal right? I did not expect manager to humiliate me loudly in front of all the other guests. Embarrassing and nasty. Salad can't have cost more than 50¢ to make, but he took the time to shame me publicly. He said he was angry at having to throw it away and that I DESERVED to be publicly humiliated. I wonder if he yells at all guest who don't finish their meals.It was a horrible experience. I was shaking as i paid the bill. So shaken that I didn't spot he had recouped the loss on the salad by over charging me for a beer. €5.50 in menu, €7 on my bill). In 6 years of regular visits to the city, it's the worst service I have experienced. The food is average. Standard schnitzel. They charge extra for mayo, ketchup, etc. Even Macdonald's doesn't do that anymore! Vienna is famous for bad service, and I really found it here."

"Fabulous food, fantastic service and lovely setting - we had dinner and sat outside which was lovely. Our service was impeccable and I would return here in a heartbeat. We had the prawns in a sauce that was to die for. Very friendly and helpful staff. You will not be disappointed!"
