"When I first arrived, I didn’t expect much from this place given its location (I don’t expect much from food courts); I was simply looking for somewhere to have a quick lunch on my way to a meeting. <br/ <br/ I got myself a chicken katsu bento box (pictured) and prepared myself for what I thought would be something unpleasant. I was wrong, the service was quick, the portions I believe were generous for the price, it wasn’t at all greasy, and the chicken was lean and fresh.<br/ <br/ I’ll most definitely be back here if I feel like grabbing a bite away from my office."

"Food is good although self serve bar lacks variety and limits 3 pieces of meat per plate! As we were finishing, they were already having $5 per lunch box deals, so, if you want a good deal, come after 1:30pm!"

"I never knew that there was such a thing as Chinese BBQ and yet life manages to pleasantly surprise me again. Is it Chinese tapas? Is it bar food? Is it a meal? I don 't know and frankly I don 't care. In fairness, it should really be called skewers but who 's counting. Muscle your way into this narrow restaurant near Carnegie Station on Koornang Road, grab the menu and order big and order fast (they can be a bit slow when you 're busy). There are a few good salads on the menu (including a scrumptious seaweed salad) and then you 're into BBQ everything. Quite literally everything. Squid, bread, potato, corn, chicken wings, tofu, beef tongue, offal.... you name it, they 've got it. Once you put in your order, then the proprietors will reappear with everything for you to enjoy eating. My tip? This is great beer food, so make sure that you take advantage of BYO. It 's a great place for a no-nonsense meal, highly recommend it."

"I'm going to get straight to the point with this one - go! Go, and eat all of the food. We got a ridiculous amount of food between the two of us, which we obviously didn't finish, but it was totally worth it to get to taste so much!Ribs, brisket and smoked jackfruit - all stellar, and for once the side dishes shone just as bright as the meats. Where other barbecue restaurants seem to offer their sides as more of an afterthought, Bluebonnet definitely put a lot of focus on theirs. The potato salad in particular....so good! Didn't try anything from the cocktail list on this occasion, but they offer and interesting selection of beers and a good choice of wines too. Good job we don't live in Melbourne, because having this place as our local would be dangerous!"

"Well, came here quite a few years ago when it was a Korean BBQ restaurant. Was good value and lots to eat that was actually pretty tasty. Not the best, but reasonable value all the same. Revisting now under the new name and I presume ownership; this place would have to be one of the WORST experiences we have encountered... BBQ and Beer; the name leaves a LOT to be desired. The food is varying, but all tastes the same. Great if you like consistency... even better if you love the taste of MSG. That's all you can taste! We tried pretty much everything on the menu and were dished up three quarters of what we ordered and much of what we didn't. A seafood banquet consisting of a skewred shrimp (meant to be a prawn) and a pipi just doesn't cut it for me. To order a beer that is very clearly quoted as a PINT and charged $9.00 for that comes out in a glass that is clearly not a pint (between a pot an a schooner) really annoys me when I question the waitress that speaks english when it suits her doesn'tendear me at all. Seems she had limited understanding of the difference in size when it comes to paying for something. Clearly the ownership here is flouting the Liquor Licensing laws here in Australia and will understand the consequences of false and misleading representation of liquor serving sizes when they are reported for such misrepresentation. I took one of their glasses they claim to be a Pint (I had to get something for the amount of money we paid for their half empty pints. I'm not sure how to add a photo here to show the difference in sizes, but my complaint is very valid. Aside for the glass poertion sizes, the food is abysmal. Dry, overcooked and is coated in MSG you can almost scrape off. To see the older lady from the kitchen out in the restaurant preparing skewers for the next sitting is also not exactly the most pleasant thing to watch. Well not in a restaurant that purports to have a higher class of clientelle than a cheap chinese city cafe. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague and save your money. Better still, head to Hungry Jack's or McDonalds... Better value and tastier food"

"First time trying American style Barbecued meats. I ordered 'Zee Man ' roll for take away. It is basically a sesame seed buns filled with barbecued beef brisket sliced thins to be sandwiched between the buns with fried onions and smokey sauce. Tasted nice as it was smoky, tangy and roasty at the same time. The meat was also tender enough. Chips were on point, crispy and well seasoned."
