"Oversalted food (like, so oversalted that I didn't feel the taste of the food itself), small portions. Maybe it's ok if you are used to local sizes and prices, but I won't visit it again. The interior is very nice though! I can imagine just drinking coffe there and working."

"Very fast delivery, even minutes too soon. but have ordered early in the evening. eating was lukewarm, not hot, but delicious. I find prices too high. I would have expected more authentic eating."

"I was visiting friends in Basel and their friends recommended Gasthof Neubad. We sat outside with the temperate weather. It was a lovely setting, forested and secluded, yet the street was 15 feet away. The menu was unique and was written on a chalkboard, which means the chef cooks with whatever ingredients he is able to source. We tried the three course meal, which started with tomatoes and buffalo cheese, covered with a broth. The main course was a beef brisket with a few flavours, like mustard seed. Both were very tasty. Instead of dessert, I had a cheese tray while my friend had dessert. The food and atmosphere were very nice. We enjoyed a nice selection of wines paired with our selections. A nice surprise was a sweet tray the server brought out - as a thank you. A nice way to end the dinner."

"We spent our last night (Sunday) in this place. More than happy with the service and the food was top notch. Shrimp Cocktail-Starter was absolutely stunned with shrimps and my creamy, mushroomless, unpredictable main course was delicious......... good a visit worth a visit. Thanks to the Scottish quota"

"Das Mittagsmenu, Spinatsuppe, Salat, Saltimbocca und Mousse au Chocolat war in Ordnung und zum Preis von CHF 27.- recht günstig, abgesehen von den eher teuren Getränken. Die Bedienung (1 Person auf etwa 30 Gäste) hingegen einfach ungenügend. Die Wartezeiten dementsprechend sehr lange und die Kaffeebestellung ging vergessen.Schade, in diesem traditionellen Lokal sollte man sich besser organisieren."

"A more versatile location. every month there is a great program. fixed days with Indian and one with African food. origami courses etc...Nette people get to know....All this in a very nice house on the Lothringerstrasse.Very recommended!"

"I'm here at 12:45 and there was hardly anything left in the small 2 Entree buffet, but I thought they'd refill it as it's until 14:00. I was so wrong! I had to scrape what the little chicken was left and that was all... I got!! Pays 8,50 euros for it. Sa for 40 minutes and they never have the food again, just the cutlery. What a joke!"

"- service is very friendly- food (I only know about lunch) is always about the same, with only little variation throughout the time- but the meals i choose are okay - the place is spacious and the acoustic very calm- it's an "open restaurant," I mean the windows are all glass, so you can really look outside, if you like that (it's okay for me) - sometimes they offer you a little (usually sweet) dessert for free - it's a family owned restaurant, so it's not anonymous and the people who lead the place have a good atmosphere"

"I think Donati is a nice restaurant , everything seems genuine Italian . Even the menu is only in Italian , which can create some problems if you are not too much Italian food lover. Nice atmosphere , enriched by some old old and rich...bourgeois couples coming to serve a discrete and valuable dinner . Food is good and served well, I found the size of portions is little bit French size if you know what I mean and not Italian. Anyway, is a nice experience which I would recommend when visiting Basel."
