"Hiked here from the campsite and enjoyed a lovely bowl of goulash soup and a beer sat outside in the sunshine. Food was lovely, service was brisk and not particularly friendly but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment."

"We walked through the forest from Freiburg and were able to follow small signs along the road. A fantastic walk, and a delicious meal when we reached the restaurant. So good that we made reservations for brunch on Sunday and will enjoy walking up the hill again...and this time knowing what awaits us!"

"Fresh, self-made, fast!! For my taste, Amara has the best meat, badly something fat needs it...is dirty mucus bears! and quality... The price is for quality complete O.K! The staff is friendly and tries to give their best in the often so hectic operation, which speaks for the shop!!! The boss is behind the counter itself and also plays for the shop! If I want to eat döner, then only in Amara power so"

"This has to be one of my favourite restaurants in the Freiburg region.The food is Blackforest Tapas, (Schwarzwald Tapas) so being tapas, naturally you'll receive tapas sized plates, so absolutely no problem there, the clue is in the name. Perhaps just order more and enjoy a wider variety of dishes, even better with the tapas wine selection.The food is very tasty and of course typically Blackforest, so you can enjoy a wide range of seasonal food from the region - all delicious.Being a commercial food photographer in London I am lucky enough to work with a lot of chefs & the food here every time we have visited really has been very good.The restaurant itself is very cosy in the cooler months, with candles, a calm and welcoming atmosphere and mismatched plates to complete the homely feel. In the summer you have fantastic views over the valley below from the terrace, which being in the forest is always a little cooler on the very hot days.My wife and I order quite a bit and we are always very full; at least 3-4 plates each shared. With a tapas wine selection for me and two bottles of water for my pregnant wife the total is 22 euros a head, which is great value for such a pleasant evening!Thoroughly recommend."

"We enjoyed the wide selection of different kinds of tea to match our choice of cake and sat outside enjoying the nice weather. We even returned the next day for another pot of tea and thanks to the umbrellas could remain in the fresh air...during the quick showers and could glimpse the nice park with the Colombischlössle, now an archaeological museum– and thus understood why the Colombi Hotel, which houses the Café Graf Anton, is called Colombi. Unfortunately we had to wait for servers on both our stops at the Café Graf Anton, wait for them to take our orders, wait for them to bring our cake and tea, wait for them to finally bring the bill. What we haven’t been able to figure out is who Graf Anton is there seems to have been lots of Spanish, German, and English nobility involved – so we’ll just have to come back and ask and hopefully the service will have improved by then."
