"With many places to choose from in the Colares area near Sintra, we were excited to have a great place open up just down the road from where we live, in Praia das Maçãs, adjacent to Azenhas do Mar. Porreiro has been with us for several months now, and every time we 've had dinner there we have enjoyed the excellent hospitality. We 're typically served a welcome drink of bubbly while we look at the menu and hear the specials, along with entradas like olives and fresh cheese with pumpkin confiture/jam. On our last visit, we started with the shrimp and shared a tomahawk a large rib chop big enough for us to split and take the extra home. While the cuisine is somewhat traditional Portuguese, they add extras, and twists, to modernize the dishes. On Friday nights, the restaurant hosts a real locals ' fado, or traditional singing, and guests are encouraged to join in. All for an excellent price including a taste of port or moscatel to finish as part of your meal."

"Not easy to understand how they serve, confusing since the first time when they are in the natives. at least I take a plate called "tapas ', price 16 € :4 tiny piece cheese (you can find this in every market as sottilette craftsmanship. 4 tiny disk... from ham (low quality). then other very tiny disc of another ham not classified. brot, of course not fresh for additional 3.5 €. if you can avoid this restaurant."
