"We found gavino’s on the fork and were very surprised by everything! the greeting was warm and friendly, and the food was totally delicious, and the completeness exceeded our expectations. eating is presented to such high standard, with delicious supplements; think edible flowers and microgreen, but still very substantially and let us be very satisfied. exceptional value for money! the personal was very attentive with great personalities. next visit to madeira we will be the most. "The service was far from professional, it seemed that the people were unexperienced. They were friendly but seemed like their thoughts were somewhere else. Items were missing from the bill and when we remarked they did not even appolgise but just asked us to wait for a larger bill!!"

"Actually this is a hidden gem in the Funchal suburbs . Entrance thru the sports bar: it takes a little courage to enter, since the real restaurant is hidden behind a typical Portuguese sports bar. Once you are in the restaurant, service and food will be outstanding and easily worth the money spent. Thanks to the PDT-team for a great and unforgettable dinner experience!"

"With so many choices of restaurants, it is a question of luck in Funchal whether you pick a good one. This was better than expected and we liked the pricing formula which gave more choice than many with set menus. You pay for the main course and then the starter and dessert are included, so there is an à la carte menu from which certain choices can be selected for the offer. We both chose what we wanted at under €12 each. The waitress was efficient and friendly and we felt we had excellent value. We felt a little guilty at not ordering more drinks, but we had already enjoyed plenty earlier in the day. Very good service and price. We'll be back and happy to recommend."

"I only read the rather mixed reviews for this restaurant after we had visited. The previous evening we had eaten at a very well reviewed place just out of Funchal and for me the food at O Jango was equally as good. The welcome was friendly and we sat outside watching the world and potential diners go by. Grilled mussels with garlic and oil were excellent as was the grilled octopus with potatoes and vegetables. We had a glass of local wine each which was served at just the right temperature. Our main quibble was the time waiting especially between starter and main courses. I’m quite happy to wait after enjoying my starter and more often than not the main course arrives too soon but 30 minutes seemed a bit long. The restaurant wasn’t busy either. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen? Otherwise a really nice meal."

"If you want a incredible meal with a picturesque European setting then this is the place. The 4 course meal with wine pairing is the way to go. The musician singing live the night we were there was like being at a concert. Highly recommend making a reservation and asking to sit by the wall with sea views."
