"It looks nothing from outside but never judge a book by its cover. We came with our friends and were given a warm welcome. The food and wine were excellent and he could not do enough for us. We were not rushed and simply had a great experience. So much so we returned the following week. A warm rustic restaurant."

"Absolutely fantastic! We were there three times during our two weeks in Tavira and were amazed every time. We had the today's special and it was homecooked genuine portuguese food. Good service, lots of guests, we had to wait a bit for a table but not for long. We will be back!"

"That is a great little bar and restaurant. excellent food and friendly locals. we travel with our two little dogs and stayed close so we sat outside, there dogs are not allowed and it was a nice sunny day. a dame gave up her table so that we could eat and we ordered the dish of the day. olive and brot were bought on the table and I had a lamb stew slowly boiled in many with new carrots and my man had cooked the mixed grilled meat on the bbq. this was the largest plate of perfectly grilled lambskin, blackskin and sausage I have ever seen served with chips and salat. both meals were delicious. we had two small beers, a bottle of white wine and two coffees and the bill was 24 euro. the place is busy, friendly and very clean nobody speaks English, but they were very patient with our mix of Spanish, Portuguese, sign language and google translate. it is not in the middle of nowhere and obviously a social node. the local ladies arrive to pick up the meal times for later and crawl and smoke while they wait, and the workers come for a quick beer and a chat to lunch. it does not appear on google maps to find so much happiness, but it is on the road from sao brás de alportel to almargens."

"Still our favourite restaurant after 8 years of staying in São Bras ; you can’t fault the tasty chicken and the prices to match . Some reviews suggest chickens are scrawny ; we didn’t experience that at all . Great desserts too ."

"Stunning view from this restaurant with some of the best food I have tried in Algarve. Superb service with a smile. Open view kitchen with even the grandmother assisting. The food was really well presented, the fish was perfectly cooked. Parking and wheel chair access. I would recommend you reserve."

"A typical Portuguese cafe/restaurant with only Portuguese spoken. Fresh food cooked to order. Fantastic lamb chops and deep fried baby mackerel. Grilled chicken cooked to perfection and if you ask for the chilli sauce beware as it is homemade and very HOT.Portuguese cooking , Portuguse atmosphere and Portuguese food. Wine delicious and beer cold. Nothing is a bother here. Access fantastic and oodles of parking via northern ring road. Eating outside or inside the choice is yours. Homemade desserts and usually a little house speciality of a titbit made by the owner. Well worth a visit and very very affordable"

"Great to see The Pantry Cafe back open after a summer break. Enjoyed another tasty and well cooked breakfast here, with friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Service still being developed, and waiting staff need to be a little more proactive and polished, but with experience I'm sure they will get there. Excellent option for anybody living in, or visiting the area."
