"The Asperge is the canteen of the Landeshaus in Kiel, i.e. in the Landtag of Schleswig Holstein. The Asperge has become known by the Spargelkoch Helmut Zipner, who now successfully runs the El Moevenschiss in Kiel Schilksee. His then partner Kai Günter Funck has now taken over this canteen over the borders of the country. The guest room is covered with glass in the high courtyard of the country house, so you have the pleasant feeling of sitting outside, but is protected in warm and from the weather of Kieler Schmuddel. As usual in canteen, there is a part self-service. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and it is never hectic, which is perhaps due to the officials of the many Schleswig Holstein ministries and offices that are mainly here... Of course, everything is bright, very clean and makes a trusting impression. On my current photos, I came past the country house and returned spontaneously. They enter the canteen not through the main entrance of the country, but go through a massive, large wooden gate on the side of the building. In the entrance there is a large wardrobe room. As a daily dish there were five main dishes in the price range between 1.90€ (soup and 5,90€ for foreigners on the table. I had decided to bake a salmon fillet with tomatoes mozzarella. There was also a Mediterranean tomato sauce and parsley potatoes. You could have chosen rice or pasta. The friendly staff finished the plate with the baked salmon fillet and tomato sauce, the supplements could be filled. The piece Seelachs was not too small and not too thin, good part with a layer of baked mozzarella, a tomato slice and basil Pesto. Tastefully, the Seelachsfilet was very good, maybe a tick dry, which is due to the processing paths in the canteen; so to speak system-related... The tomato sauce had a good consistency and was also tastefully top. In summary, this canteen is the best in Kiel and not a secret tip. If you take a walk through the lunch time in Kiel on the water, you can come here and eat very cheap, high quality and delicious."

"We visited the bar twice in a week while we were in a hotel in kiel. our main reason for going twice was to have a lighter meal which is not always easy to do in Germany. the first time it was pretty crowded, but. our waiter was attentive and they put some teller on the “sushi go round”. there was a slight misunderstanding with a beer order, but it only meant that I had one more than I expected, and as I went, it was good. at our second visit it was a very hot day and the place was almost empty. the same waiter greeted us immediately and explained that there was no raw fish on the belt and that it would be ordered because of the heat. both of them was the sushi great and the selection is good. the beer is also quite cold, which was very important during the second visit."
