"When this arcade opened, it was fantastic. So many amazing arcade games with fair prices and ticket redemption. Now, several years later, it is a much lackluster location. There are several glaring issues here, which I will list, so you can determine if they are deal breakers for you:1) Prices for various games (most specifically ticket based games) have skyrocketed to unreasonable levels. When compared to other companies, Round1 charges much more and the games give out less tickets. Before, with reasonable skill, you could earn enough tickets to get a good prize without significantly overspending. The ticket economy is now a joke and not worth it unless you are a young child who simply wants a few pieces of candy.2) The past three times I have visited, I purchased time play cards. Each time, there were issues with the cards, forcing us to spend 20 minutes of our time with the staff to fix the problems. However, the staff is usually good about resolving these problems.3) Conversely, Round 1 has a very limited staff of repair techs, many of whom are not properly trained to fix issues that arise. For example, many of the light gun games have hardware malfunctions, control sticks are very rarely replaced, making several games unplayable and a waste of money. For a specific example, the fourth wheel on Mario Kart Arcade has been shoddy for several years, with seemingly no attempts to fix it it, despite the game being very popular.4) Finally, for any pinball players who might be interested in checking out their machines don 't waste your money. Many of the pinball machines have been broken for 2 3 years, and are mostly simple fixes that could and should be fixed. I have politely brought up this issue with the manager, who stated he would have them fixed. That was almost a year ago. With a few exceptions, the pinball machines almost always have one or two major malfunctions, rendering them unplayable beyond very casual play. There are some very nice things about Round 1, which is why this is a 2 star review and not a 1 star. Most of the bar staff are very kind and make the experience better. The time play option is nice (when it works), as you can play most non ticket games for a cheaper price. Additionally, they have somewhat decent food (although it is expensive), and the combination of billiards and bowling make it more than just an average high end arcade. Additionally, Round 1 contains several Japanese import games, which are very fun to play (provided that you figure out how to start the games, as they are not localized to English).Overall, Round 1 is a decent place to hang out for an hour or two, but many machines have issues, several of the managers are flippant and/or abrasive, and it is painfully obvious that the most of their repair techs are not qualified or properly trained for their positions.Like most businesses, Round 1 primarily cares about their bottom line and earning profits, even if it means neglecting basic repairs and instituting changes that are worse for their customers. At the worst, they blatantly lie about fixing their games, and knowingly leave broken or inoperable machines on the floor for years at at time.Round 1 used to be the best arcade in town, but due to poor upkeep, constant price inflation and ticket economy changes, this place has become less about reasonably priced entertainment and more about sucking every dollar possible out of your wallet, then ignoring any reasonable complaints or concerns you may have.It 's worth checking out Round 1 once or twice if you have the cash to spare, but don 't be surprised if many games are broken or malfunctioning. I used to enjoy visiting Round 1, but after giving them the benefit of the doubt for several years, it has become clear that the golden days of this location are far gone."
