"The food here I would describe as 'uncouth' - that is to say, having no subtlety at all. Everything - and I mean everything - was drenched in oil or fat, and garlic, from the starter to the mains, even the vegetables. There was no English menu (even Spanish would have helped) and the handwritten Portuguese one was not legible to Google Translate. So we had to rely on the waiter who without any real consultation just recommended the most expensive dish on the menu - a mixed grill of the black pork for two. This was incredibly fatty and not tasty at all - it just tasted of fat and raw garlic. The meat had been garnished with chopped RAW garlic, which overpowered absolutely everything. Service was OK initially but then very slow when it came to the end of the meal. I do not recommend this restaurant at all, there are far better, and cheaper, options in the area. Do yourself a favour and avoid."

"Os bons amigos is one of these restaurants that are easily missed as it looks a bit like a grote bar from the outside. it is really very typical of many of the places, not to underbreathe, in odemeira. when entering...comes with good, a grotty bar, but on the back is a large(ish) restaurant that is always busy. eating is very good, typical Portuguese, and very cheap. in a similar way, the wine list reflects this. for those who are over pampering, there is also a b available that is clean, convenient to be reasonable. ask for details on the bar. the place is located directly in front of the bridge over the rio mira, from south. while the night continues, the bar enjoys the society of many local customers who seem to have lived forever. the only parking space on the floor is somewhat limited. great place."
