"I don't understand how this place can be rated 4.5 stars based on food. Our bartender was great, the guacamole really good, but the tacos are truly sub par. I mean WAY sub par. Pastor dry. Short ribs flavorless. Ground beef bland. And they are pricey $5 $6 each and stingy portions for the price. My companion had chicken fajitas it was OK, nothing special, but again, pricey. There are 5 other Mexican places on St. Simons. Only Bubba Garcia's is worse."

"The free bread they give you before the meal is probably the best thing here. The portions were big, food was just okay. Our server was awful, very slow and inattentive. Ordered a drink and it took about 10 min to come out. I had the seafood platter and while it was good, not sure the value was. My wife got a soup/salad and said both were pretty bad."

"This place is a blast…Great people, outdoor seating, live music, fire pits, and great views. We were there Saturday evening and had just shy of an hour wait, but it was fine as we enjoyed cocktails by the fire, listening to live music, and meeting new friends. Ample parking is available or you can walk there if staying nearby! Go check them out. Definitely worth it!"

"Re: the seafood stew. My husband and I had just returned from France where we spent part of that time in Marseille—a city renowned for many things, not least of all, its bouillabaisse, which So, we’re here in St. Simon Island on our honeymoon, and it pained me to admit to my French husband that I preferred Halyards’ seafood stew. Honestly, it is very close. But this is tremendously high praise for anyone that’s had the experience of dining in France. If we pass back thru Southern GA again, we absolutely will return."

"Excellent place, it was our first time and we are sure we want to return. The waitress, Courtney B took care of us and suggested our food, we ordered darkened fish of the day and everything was delicious. The meal includes ice cream, with everything you want. Donnie was also very aware that the service was provided was good. The prices are also very good. Thanks to the Iguanas team!"

"Visit from Atlanta and heard from this place. loved our breakfast we ordered. I had the French toast with bacon and my husband had the egg and sausage sandwich. Both meals were excellent and our iced tea was the best we had on the island. Our server was very nice and friendly and quickly brought our food out. I can't remember her name. She told us about the other restaurant called Delaney that we will try. I wish we could have tasted lunch, but we'll be back when we visit St Simon's."
