"What an indulgent treat in the heart of Newtown! Authentic French pastries that are incredibly heavenly and yet so accessible at 142 Riddiford Street. Their croissants are rich, delicate, and flaky, their Mille Feuilles cake is decadently creamy and delicious, and their cakes are superb. The service is always super friendly and prompt and the space is bright and beautiful. We love this place so much, we travel here on the weekends even though we live farther away. If you want authentic French pastries, come to French Cancan-you will not regret it!"

"Nice food, some a bit overpriced for portion size. Good for vegan and gluten free options, though gluten free is a few dollars more. They correctly use separate equipment for gluten free items though so should be safe for coeliacs. Plenty of sangria options, mulled sangria too which was nice. Staff all very friendly"

"Went there for a drink after dinner, because we stayed in the hotel. Very friendly and competent Barkeeper. Told us about the wine and my whisky. Interior is so cosy. Lovely chairs and couches. The only thing, that made it not comfortable, was the room temperature. Far to cold!!!"

"This was our second visit and the staff were just as friendly and helpful as last time. The food was delicious and the only thing I was disapointed in was that they didn't have any of the salted caramel ice cream which is divine. New favourite tho plum and Pinot"

"These guys got me hooked on Butterscotch Schnapps, and it's now all downhill for me from here. Delicious poutine and burgers, and a great selection of drinks. Their blueberry cider on tap is really good too."

"We sat outside on the veranda which was really nice, the staff who served us were so kind and sweet. I ordered the french toast for breakfast and it was amazing! I would suggest maybe taking the skin off the oranges though so its a bit easier to eat : The bear coffee's we had were so adorable and came with a shot to add in so you could really customize the drink on how strong you wanted it. Would definitely visit again :"
