"Really impressed with the quality of the food and the excellent service. I would definitely recommend and we will be going back with our family soon, perhaps for the Sunday buffet which sounds delicious. We had a popadom each with a nice selection of sambals while we looked at the menu. I was impressed to see they served local beer on the menu which was very nice. We shared an onion bhaji to start which came as a 4 so it was ideal to have 2 each, they even gave us an extra plate with a little salad on I thought that was a nice touch. As mains we ordered Chicken Tikka Massala (omg … this was so delicious, such a lovely red vivid sauce and very tasty) and Chicken Tikka Korai (also very tasty) with a naan, mushroom rice and a side of saag aloo (also very good). All in all, it was a lovely and tasty meal, which came in good portions so at the end of the meal we felt nice and full but not bloated. I’ll definitely come again it was great."

"Sunday lunch with my girlfriend and foodie Daughter, having booked on Saturday evening, and being accommodated for lunch the next day was very much appreciated, thank you for that, my Daughters choice of roast would always be lamb and it’s so nice to see it on a menu nowadays and especially here and to be fair it was cooked to perfection as I also had it, the whole meal was cooked the same way, lovely nice choice of fresh vegetables and the best roast potatoes I have ever had outside of home, now that’s how you judge a roast dinner, am I not right readers? the food was outstanding, my girlfriend had the chicken and by the look of her plate, obviously enjoyed it and she doesn’t really like a roast, says it all, if it is cooked with love, it clearly shows on the plate, big thanks to all the kitchen staff my only criticism and the reason I didn’t give it a 5 was just down to a couple of younger members of serving staff, smile and look like you enjoy what your doing, even if your not, it doesn’t cost anything, a total opposite to the nice lady that greeted us on arrival, would I recommend it, ABSOLUTELY, will I be back? I wouldn’t go anywhere else in and around here for Sunday lunch."

"Stopped for lunch on our walk of The Chiltern Hills to find a picturesque pub on the edge of town. Inside a central bar surrounded by several spacious rooms ... Some laid out for dining. Two cask ales on offer and both sampled were in excellent condition and well served by friendly staff. Unfortunately even though their website says they are serving lunch on Tuesdays ... Apparently that's all wrong. Yet another establishment in the hospitality sector that cares little for new clients and passing trade. The whole town seems to be semi comatose on weekday lunchtimes. Best avoided if you're looking to dine."

"It was our second visit, as it is next to the campsite home farm. we were here last year in september and was great then. the pub had a radical rejuvenating crazy ever since, eating is another crab. I had the spade with was delicious. the missus had the fish cake that was also good. for all I went for the sirloin bark, which consisted of two thick meat slices, which melted in their mouth with a good selection on fresh veg. I would have drunk the heavy alone. the misus went for the gay that was also discovered. our son had the laacallyen wurst and chips. a fantastic sound, I just wish we lived closer. good value at under £15 for a good roast, almost as good as my mother!"

"Been here several times, great Sunday lunches and really friendly staff. They also have some great bands on Saturday nights. Definitely worth a visit."
