"Lovely country pub, beautiful decorated, huge garden with lots of space for children to run around and dog friendly. Heated terrace with sun rain covers. Food looks yummy too. Just beware the main door to the ladies sticks. Big car park, easy to find as it's on the main road though the village. Very friendly landlady and bar staff."

"My niece and I booked on Sunday midday buffet. eating was always good, with a lot of choice and the possibility to choose Indian, English or both! we were also invited to fill our plates as often as we wanted. the greeting was friendly as the service, the only critique was that the plates were cold, so that eating very quickly cooled and the temperature in the bar area where we sat was very cool, even when a heating was brought."

"We went to the Whip after it recently reopened with a new chef and what an amazing surprise it was!! All the dishes were really tasty, top quality for a local pub! Staff was very welcoming and nice! Will definitly return soon and may quickly become regulars! Well done!"

"Stopped for lunch on our walk of The Chiltern Hills to find a picturesque pub on the edge of town. Inside a central bar surrounded by several spacious rooms ... Some laid out for dining. Two cask ales on offer and both sampled were in excellent condition and well served by friendly staff. Unfortunately even though their website says they are serving lunch on Tuesdays ... Apparently that's all wrong. Yet another establishment in the hospitality sector that cares little for new clients and passing trade. The whole town seems to be semi comatose on weekday lunchtimes. Best avoided if you're looking to dine."

"It was our second visit, as it is next to the campsite home farm. we were here last year in september and was great then. the pub had a radical rejuvenating crazy ever since, eating is another crab. I had the spade with was delicious. the missus had the fish cake that was also good. for all I went for the sirloin bark, which consisted of two thick meat slices, which melted in their mouth with a good selection on fresh veg. I would have drunk the heavy alone. the misus went for the gay that was also discovered. our son had the laacallyen wurst and chips. a fantastic sound, I just wish we lived closer. good value at under £15 for a good roast, almost as good as my mother!"
