The charming traditional English restaurant and tea rooms feature open fires, lovely outside seating for the summer, and are famous for their delicious Cream Teas. Serving hot food and homemade cakes all day, this historic flint cottage, originally two fishermen's cottages built in 1680, has a friendly ghost named Mrs. Mockford. Legend has it that her husband was a notorious smuggler who used tunnels from the beach to the cellar to evade customs officers in Rottingdean. Those who have glimpsed Mrs. Mockford have always commented on her serene smile and beautiful hat.
The average evaluation of 4.4 shows that the visitors have been very satisfied with the Trellis so far.
What Zutot likes about Trellis:
I've visited a couple of times, both very good. They do a great cream tea and toasted sandwiches, baguettes. They have a nice little tea garden and the man that runs it is very friendly. View all feedback.
