When visiting Porto Covo for one night, we were looking for a typical cuisine of the Alentejo region. At Hortela Da Ribeira we found the perfect place. We ordered the baby squid and the rich tomato soup with fish, recommended by the chef, and we were told that this was a 30-year old, family-run business, where the owner's wife prepared the dishes with her sister's old recipies. dont even know where to start.. just pitty i didnt checked tripadvisor before going to this place! really really bad service.. hair in the food, but looks like it is normal, nobody cares.. the servers, have competitions with each other so see who is working less! they do nothing, its like you are not there.. the food.. oh God!!!!! and hair? the owner didnt care at all.. well RUN!!!!
