I have found fish n chips very expensive, everywhere! Then a neighbour suggested Chippys, which is just down the hill, from where we've lived for six years. I've been there twice recently and I love it! The fish is great, nice flavour and the fries are some of the best I've had. But the biggest surprise was the value. It's the best I've found. Buttered fish (I think haddock) is quite good; always fresh, hot and tasty. When it comes to fries, they are always under-cooked. In about last 12 years, since I first learned about this place, I have never ever got fries that would be crisp and crackling, as they are supposed to be. Instead they are soft and soggy.
