What Bennett Boyer likes about Nihonkai Tsukiji:
The food at this restaurant is good but not overly fancy. I appreciate that they provide oshibori for guests to clean their hands, giving it a Japanese feel. They also offer Japanese tea if you prefer that over water. The service was quick, though the staff could be a bit more attentive when needed. Overall, the restaurant has an authentic feel. We also tried the tempura moriawase, which included prawn and vegetable fritters. Despite not typically enjoying tempura, we found this one to be enjoyable, with crispy and non-greasy pieces of eggplant, squid, and prawn that paired well with the dipping sauce.
