"A simple food court stall offering affordable Korean meals.

In this review we take a look at their Bibimbap (120 PHP) a no frills, quick, and filling hot meal. Served in a hot plate, the Bibimbap is filled with a lot of side, a heap of steaming rice, and a sunny side egg on top of the pile. It's definitely a filler kind of meal, an eat and go type that can't be hyped.

Prepared consistently with ingredients precooked and ready for it to be laid out on your hot plate. Meats are grinded and scooped as needed, same as the veggies. The eggs are perfectly prepared and are laid out in the open and ready to be topped on your meal, so mix well to reheat it properly. The overall experience is average at best. The most appealing of part to report is the quick preparation.

eater.ph"

"My mom went home one day with some of Zao's barbecue dishes - which we all enjoyed. So on another day when my mom wanted to eat at Zao again, we obliged.

Having already tasted their barbecue dishes, we wanted to try something new. We had Crab Cakes for appetizer, Zao Pho for my brother, Zao Bowl for me, and Seafood in Claypot for my mom. The Crab Cakes tasted good but what made it stand out for me was the cilantro mayonnaise. It was so good I used it as a dip for the spring rolls that came with my Zao Bowl. Speaking of the Zao Bowl, it was filling but not so fulfilling. I only enjoyed the toppings but not so much the cold vermicelli noodles. As far as I can remember, my brother enjoyed his Zao Pho very much but only after adding (almost) all of the condiments that came with it. I was also able to try the Seafood in Claypot and I liked the chewy texture of the squid as well as the sauced up rice.

The star of that night's dinner would have to be their Tamarind Iced Tea. It tasted like the Moniegold chewy tamarind candy which is our family's favorite. I forgot how many refills we had but my brother and I had A LOT.

As much as some of their food tasted good, those that I enjoyed weren't exactly Vietnamese dishes. So after eating at Zao, I came to the realization that I am not a fan of Vietnamese food, unfortunately. I'd still like to give their Calamansi Tart a try, though."

"The first time that i've been here, i'd probably rate it as 2/5 since the service wasn't that good, we waited for almost an hour before we got served and i'm bothered with the plates that they use (it's kinda cheap looking because of scratches & black marks on it).

Nonetheless, I came back for their food. T'was great, really. I like the balanced seasoning and how it was served. Also, I like how they've changed their plates and make it more presentable, even the staffs became more friendly.

I would also suggest this restaurant if you're planning to try any asian cuisine (preferably chinese) but have a tight budget, this resto would be a nice pick since they offer personal set meals with iced tea plus unlimited rice & soup that costs below P200 :)

One of the things I think would be their weakness is the place, it's ideal but it's small for the number of people who wants to dine.

My recommended dishes are listed below.
- Salted egg fried chicken
- Crunchy... read more"

"Premium and quality are the words that best describes the meat that is being served in this place. Due to the quality of meat being served it is pricey. Coming in hungry will set one guy back around P3000-P5000. The main menu is limited to stone grill, steamed and sukiyaki. There are four brands with four to five types of meat. Basic order is around 100g of meat. Service is good and quick unlike a different resto of the same kind."

"It doesn't say anywhere that you need to pay extra 80 pesos if you want to create your own bowl with quinoa. I just don't trust to places with hidden prices."

"October 4, 2016 || Giovan: If you're looking for a sizzling hot meal in McKinley Hill then Pepper Lunch Express is one of the place to get them.

PERSPECTIVE (Subjective)
The market in McKinely Hill is very much the office crowd and a quick affordable meal is all that's needed. I to would seek a quick meal here just to beat the clock, as a much nicer meal would be wasted when in a rush. That being said, new options in the food court and in the Grand Canal Mall are pinching their once captured customers. The recent opening of Sizzling Pepper Steak with their below 180 pricing is just much more palatable on the budget, which creates a gap. Lines have died down at Pepper Lunch in favour of cheaper and better options such as "Little Manila" who offer more than just the sizzle, but a diverse menu with veggies, Galo's 350 pesos for 2 promo, which includes drinks, and finally our usual cheap eats would Shawarma Bros, an inexpensive rush meal that's consistent and starts from just 159 for a meal & drink.

FOOD
The usual BEEF PEPPER RICE is a frequent order, but being a foodies about trying new things, so this time I tried their TERIYAKI BEEF PEPPER RICE (209 PHP) essentially the only difference is the included egg and the teriyaki sauce, the egg plays a vital part in keeping me happy with this plate, as the beef feels, underwhelming in use, the beef up they offer will be another 50 pesos and that point a full restaurant is a much better choice.

Is it just me, but I expect to always eat too quickly and sting myself in the process. #Excited

eater.ph"

"I love Japanese food and good thing there's Nihonkai Tsukiji relatively near my work place when I crave for authentic Japanese cuisine.

They've got everything! From sushi and sashimi, ramen/soba/udon, to bento, donburi, and yakimono plus a lot more. We usually order the Makunochi Bento. This is totally filling as it consists of sashimi, katsu, grilled salmon, tofu, miso soup, salad, and rice. Another favorite is the Ebi-Ten Roll. Love the Japanese mayo drizzle on the crunchy coated maki. For the ramen, I go for Tonkotsu Ramen. It's a huge bowl/serving size with 2 slices of pork and half hard-boiled egg. I always get this giddy feeling whenever I dine at Nihonkai Tsukiji. A feeling of craving satisfied!

patchesoflifebyjessa.com"

"We went here on a regular Wednesday lunchtime hoping a quick sushi lunch outside the office would fit into an hour. It's nicely located in the Venice Mall - easy to find. The restaurant is spacious enough and was half its capacity when we were there. No WiFi, but the Venice Mall has 1 hour of free WiFi for everyone
We got our money's worth although we were disappointed that it took them almost 45 minutes to serve our food. I would come back anyway!"

"I have been working on mckinley hills for so long and have not yet heard of a restaurant in the heart of enderun. a restaurant in the school known for the production of culinary experts, it can no longer be a surprise, as this can be one of the many platforms in training to become an expert, so expect high standards when it comes to how they show the food and service when they come to dine at this place. they specialize in international cuisine with a local twist to balance with our pinoy gaumen. most of the foods had rich strata and background and how they artistically designed and created. the ambiente des restos is a stylish, fine, cozy atmosphere for people who like to have an intimate date with their partners or family members.
/ regarding the food, we were able to taste unique dishes:
One of the appetizers as beautiful and fresh green of their 101 ceasar to salats, vegetables beautiful, which is my fave light and a perfect starter. duck waffles is this a raised version of chickens and waffeln. the waffel texture is crispy and soft inside. loves the delicate and tasteful meat of the duck, which is devastated with rich Gravy gum. the cream of the mushroom is also a star. best served and eaten warm. the soft rolls that swim in the middle of the suppe made it different than the other suppen that they would try. another interesting dish french quail, as we usually do not eat here except the eggs they produce. I was afraid it will taste like deaf meat from which I tried before, that is quite unpleasant because of the aftertaste, but surprisingly it was good and tastes like huh. the flesh is tender, like chicken legs and quite well seasoned. the conchiglie or mush pasta is also good and al dente. it was packed with seafood flavor that they would certainly enjoy. lambie is also recommended if they want more meaty and hearty lunch and dinner. it was perfectly encrusted and also spiced.
Desserts were my favorite, of course. we have the delice a 68% dark chocolate moist cake with so much delicious! my sweet tooth was triggered with so much joy. a unique is the cup of joe coffee pot de créme, and nussbaum tarte definitiw the best end because of the walnut tart! soft chewing basic with slightly sweet nut tree A-Mazing!
/ to interest them more, they have an breakfast buffet for only 300php. not bad for a buffet every day of the day. Overall, I am astonished by the passion that the chefs put in the plate, so it turned out pretty. kudos and also the staff who are friendly and attentive."
