we are so sorry that shoto closes. we have come apart at 2 locations, about 4 or 5 years, and we simply love the concept and experience, both time, beautiful food and drinks as well as the interaction with the chefs that are all excellent. watching them at work is a training in reverence for food prep and display. Food was great but considering the 125$/per person price tag, nothing I ate left me with a feeling that I needed to rush back to eat there again. Interesting and fun experience overall, blind tasting menu while watching the kitchen staff prepare the courses was definitely an experience, but a one off for me, as in my opinion I can get a far more enjoyable meal for half the price or less at other spots around the city...
