Atmospheric Pub where we had a traditional Sunday lunch of very good quality and reasonably priced. Warm, friendly efficient service. It’s maybe not a ‘special occasion’ venue but, based on our experience of some of the other local establishments, it was the best food service (and that included a ‘special occasion’ meal at The Royal Hotel)! Sign on the door says closed Thursdays. On passing later on Thursday it was clearly open, heaving with customers and also quiz night. In we went only to be told by the woman behind the bar. Table service only but all tables were full. Can...we just get a drink at the bar? The woman behind the bar looked towards the man at the end of the bar.
