"I can't say how much I loved this place! from the warm welcome to my whole family, the amazing advice, about the drinks best with what eat, happy, a discussion about how the place came, the procurement of food etc., but nothing compares with the amazing eating we have experienced, simply beautiful! perfectly cooked and flavored. we have our meal and had to go back for more, as we had to try! have already chosen what we have on our next trip when we come back! many thanks for the best meal on the island! much luck youngs go from strength to strength and best desire for the new arrival when he / she comes xx"

"The setting for this IOW gem is breathtaking. It’s easy to forget where you are and believe you’re sat in a taverna on the beach of an unspoilt small Greek island. We were really lucky with the weather which just added to the magic, but...weather alone does not a great restaurant make. Overlooking the wonderful steep hill cove, The Boathouse has an almost exclusively seafood menu, and what a menu. From sea bass to whole lobster, it all looked incredibly mouth watering. It didn’t disappoint either. The baked sea bass ordered was delivered after the wonderful smoked mackerel pate, in a foil parcel. It was simply wonderful. A simple but delicious side salad and some wonderful boiled new potatoes in butter. Add the tasty fresh bread and the ensemble is complete. A great place, wonderfully helpful and attentive staff, great seafood, all with a breathtaking backdrop and that’s the Boathouse. If you can get in, then go. Booking in advance is advised, though we do understand that walk-ins happen too. But good luck with that."

"Visited just a pub, because nothing was opened in Ventnor at 3pm on Saturday… It was really the only place serving food. And prices are too high for a pub… Food was fine, we’ve ordered fish&chips."
