"The bratbeef looked like it had been heated/boiled again and was quite hard. roasted potatoes were beautiful and veg and yorkshire pudding were ok. the sticky chili chicken was a tiny breast and dry and boiled over. the only companion was pommes. no salate or veg garnish. not impressed"

"I was really disappointed as I booked the Cornerhouse to take work colleagues out that had been visiting from the US, that had particular dietary requirements. In the past I have found the extensive menu to be very good and the dining room to be lovely. But on this occasion when I arrived I was told that the kitchen was being refurbished and so we had a limited menu and that the dining room was closed so we had to sit in the main bar area, which was noisy and full of punters. The limited food option was very disappointing as we had already selected what we wanted to eat in advance from the menu on the website (where there was no mention of the refurbishment) and when what we did order arrived it was under cooked and cold. We did not stay long and it was not somewhere that my colleagues will want to return to. Had there been any advance contact (as the restaurant had my details) it could have really helped to improve the situation."

"We have visited this pub on several occasions and the food is generally good. On a busy Saturday night the place was a bit noisy but that was only to be expected. All four of us enjoyed our meal, the portion size was good and the service was fine. Recommended if you're looking for a reasonably valued gastropub"

"Firstly when we turned up we were told the booking hadn’t been registered and they were actually fully booked. Luckily they were able to squeeze us in. Otherwise the atmosphere was very good the food was very nice however the service was a bit slow."

"Only problem was that when I turned up, The Kings Arms didn’t have my booking. Hadn’t received it from Open Table!! Luckily they weren’t busy and they found us a table. Staff very friendly and helpful and efficient"
