"I've been looking past this cozy grocery store for months and I'm glad I finally made it. Taichung's public transit system is not the most convenient to get from point A to point B sometimes. I was pleasantly surprised by the locally produced organic products, although there is no great variety available. I would imagine that the stock they have is quite seasonal and depends on the farmers they work with. The bananas of Nantou were spectacular. I also appreciated their selection of alchemist beer. This small craft brewery uses Taiwanese ingredients to make some truly unique beers, and it is a little challenge to find their products throughout the city. Some of the breads they bake between Tuesday and Saturday are vegan. I did not try any of them, so I am not sure what they are or what is in all of them: • Tuesdays Saturdays: Flip-Flop Bread Black Olive bread: 包ţ • Tuesdays-Saturdays: Maskenbrot black Olives and Italian spices: ξ包ς • Tuesdays Thursdays: Flying Drachebrot 包¢ Wednesdays Fridays: Buckwheat Bread Þ包 Bagels sorted aromas such as original, black tea and pumpkin: 貝 I had heard from Green Vines and its spectacular hair and body care products, but I had not seen them outside their website. When I run out of this stuff, I come back to try this local brand. There were two employees in the store: one next to the entrance and another at the checkout. The guy near the front introduced various products for customers, including a powdered form of amla Indian gooseberry from trees grown here in Taiwan. How cool is that? He also gave me some Amla sweets from the same stock. I want to return to a few Saturdays to buy some freshly ground peanut butter by gram in my own glass container."
