"I wrote a review last year on this excellent restaurant. I noted the wonderful food and the Hoegaarden rose beer, both are the same, the food is exquisite. Presented beautifully and wonderfully tasty. That has not changed, still wonderful. Last year I noted the good value menu du jour at €21 for a 3 course meal. Wow that has changed! This year 2 courses were €26, and €36 for the 3 courses, so an 85% increase. Still we enjoyed the excellent meal. Restaurant was much quieter than last year! I wonder why?!?!?!"

"Have been to La Racou a number of times and have usually had a beer at theL'Oasis as it has quite a nice open seating area suitable just for a drink or a bite to eat. It is facing the beach so not a bad spot to pass an hour or so. This time, we decided to have a bit of lunch, me with a beer and the wife a glass of rosé. We both plumped for the Catalan salad, which, like most salads in this part of France, were huge though, as usual, the tasty bits, come on a large bed of lettuce. However, there was a reasonable helping of tuna and anchovies while there was also plenty of other ingredients cucumber, olives, hard boiled egg slices, radishes, onions and tomatoes to add to the taste. We enjoyed it but just wish they, and most other restaurants offering salads, would cut down on the lettuce."

"We went to Le Racou beach because they have a section where dogs are permitted. This little restaurant and hotel back right onto the beach so it has a lovely view of the sea. Most of the other restaurants here have a view of the road. They let us take our dog into the outside eating area. Sadly, we went after 2pm when they stop serving hot food during the day!So we could only have basic sandwiches, not even chips!The selection of food, especially seafood looked nice though and the staff were friendly enough. But be prepared to speak French."

"We were in Argeles for a week and ate here four times because we liked it so much. The specials board was a great source of new and interesting food, but the main menu also worked well for us two adults and four teenagers. All the food we had was delicious and the waitress was extremely friendly and cheerful. It's a family restaurant fun by people originally from Sicily and the cuisine reflects this. Oh and the house wine was delicious! Chilled tap water is served in old wine bottles, which was charming. My only gripe one the restaurant has little control over, to be fair is that the eating area is semi outdoors so that smoking is allowed under the French rules, which was pretty unpleasant as we're now quite unused to having to put up with other people's cigarette smoke during a meal. However, it was a problem only one night for us. The restaurant is small but does takeaway pizza. It's worth booking, although we did get tables by arriving at 7pm."
