"Just spent a fantastic evening in this lovely little restaurant. The service is fantastic and the owners couldn’t have made us feel more welcome despite the language barrier We all managed muddle through without much bother! The food is amazing, their steak is one of the best and the kids meals were fantastic. Would recommend and we hope to return before our holiday is over."

"Ate at this restaurant several times in September whilst staying at the Quinta do Monteverde in Castelo do Neive. The fish served are caught locally by the small fleet of boats at the Pedra Alta harbour. The restaurant is neat, clean and tidy with clear attention to detail and, more importantly, frequested by the locals. The menu is rustic, typical Portugeuse, but qualitatively very good and excedingly good value for money. We often ate a bowl of king sized prawns, a freshly grilled fish and a sweet with wine and water for around 40 Euros. The fish was cooked very well every time not overdone, not under done: just right; soft and flaky fish. The Vinho Verde (max price 7.00 Euros per bottle) wahes it all down quite nicely: heaven! The lady who runs the place speaks a little English, which goes a long way to helping with the orders. Service is polite and friendly. Take a dictionary for translating the names of the freshly caught fish, which vary from day to day. The whole of our stay in the region, we probably did not eat better. Closed on Mondays, apparently. Worth going out of you way to visit. If staying at the Quinta, probably the best local option and only a (quiet) 5 minute drive."

"Terrible tourist trap! Unfortunately we didn’t see the other reviews on TA before ordering our dinner. The salad was full of salt, the periniscos were gummy and the octopus was floating in a plate of oil. All in all we had disgusting food served with a sarcastic attitude by the French-speaking owner. To avoid at all costs."
