"The food was indeed fresh and the flavors were good. Could have used a bit of salt and heat, but generally tasty. Great variety, too. The atmosphere is cozy and what you’d hope for in a neighborhood cafe in South Austin. They even have outdoor seating, but we elected to sit indoors near a window instead. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The hostess/food runner would clearly prefer no customers. They refused to make eye contact and would turn away from you as you are talking. The gentleman behind the counter made up for it, although he forgot to send in one of my dishes. No “welcome” or “thanks” or any acknowledgement as you leave, either. Overall, it’s a cute place that I can see returning to. I just won’t be bringing anyone with me I’d want to impress."

"I've been asked many times about where one should get coffee, so I've made it an effort to try more spots. I recently came to Monkey Nest and damn, they have a good selection of specialty coffees to choose from! I got the: Wildflower Lavender Latte: wildflower honey and lavender latte. For the person who likes something more herbal and light, this is for you! I'm not the biggest lavender enthusiast, but it was done nice and balanced here. $4.99 for large) 4/5 Monkey's Uncle: peanut butter, chocolate, and banana. Imagine a chocolate dipped banana, but in coffee form! That's what this tasted like and damn it is SO GOOD!! The banana isn't artificial tasting either, so no worries there. This easily is one of my new favorite coffees in town! Must try!! $4.99 for large) 4.75/5 All in all, I am very satisfied with Monkey Nest. I'm a sweet drinker, so I'm highly satisfied with the vast amount of specialty coffees to choose from. I will definitely be back soon to try more! With all that said, I give them a 4.5/5 for being amazing!"

"Five out of five. Fantastic Italian food. Good ambiance. Fresh pasta. Large wine selection. I always get the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are the true hero of the dish. They are moist and flavorful. The best balls I’ve ever put in my mouth. My wife gets the salmon. It’s cooked to perfection with a nice seer and sits on top risotto and broccolini. I usually hate paying for bread but the garlic truffle butter garlic bread is amazing. I like to save a couple slices to dip in my spaghetti sauce."

"The house chips with Maytag bleu cheese were a great start as usual. My prime rib had 4 star flavor with 2 star chewiness . I have had the ribs and the burgers before and sort of wish I had ordered either instead of my prime rib. The loaded baked yukon gold potatoes were really good. The drinks were fine and there was a more than adequate selection of wines by the glass."
